Google Offering Free AI & Machine Learning Courses

Google Offering Free AI & Machine Learning Courses . Google on 1 March introduced “Learn with Google AI” — a set of educational resources developed by Machine Learning (ML) experts at the company, for people to learn about concepts, develop skills and apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) to real-world problems.

“Learn with Google AI” comes with existing content as well as the new Machine Learning Crash Course (MLCC).

The course features videos from ML experts at Google, interactive visualisations illustrating ML concepts, coding exercises using cutting-edge TensorFlow APIs and a focus that teaches how practitioners implement ML in the real world.

Originally developed by Google’s engineering education team, more than 18,000 Googlers have enrolled in MLCC so far.

Machine learning and AI are some of the biggest topics in the tech world right now, and Google is looking to make those fields more accessible to more people with its new Learn with Google AI website.

Google has been pursuing AI education for a while, both with advanced projects like TensorFlow and more playful projects like cat doodles and a machine vision experiment meant to showcase AI projects in more practical ways.

Google envisions the Learn with Google AI site serving as a repository for machine learning and AI, and it’s meant to be a hub for anyone looking to “learn about core ML concepts, develop and hone your ML skills, and apply ML to real-world problems.” The site will apparently cater to all levels of AI enthusiasts, from researchers looking for advanced tutorials to beginners.

The site also features a free course called Machine Learning Crash Course (MLCC). The course is based off an internal Google course that was originally designed to help give Google employees a practical introduction to AI and machine learning fundamentals, with 18,000 employees already enrolled. Now, Google is making MLCC available to everyone through the Learn with Google AI website, providing exercises, interactive visualizations, and instructional videos to help teach machine learning concepts.

The course is listed as roughly 15 hours, with interactive lessons, lectures from Google researchers, and over 40 exercises included. It’s designed for newcomers with no machine learning experience whatsoever, although Google does recommend that course takers have a mastery of intro-level algebra and some proficiency in programming basics and Python. The MLCC is also the first of what Google intends to be many courses and resources available through the new hub, with more to come soon.
